Developing a Special Needs Advisory Panel: Fostering Local Health Department Collaboration in Preparedness Planning for At-Risk Populations.
Darnell Thomas is responsible for facilitating the development and enhancement of emergency plans for at risk populations in Chicago. He is also responsible for coordinating the Chicago Department of Public Health's Faith-Based Emergency Preparedness Initiatives and serving as co-chair on the Joint Cook County Department of Public Health/Chicago Department of Public Health Special Needs Advisory Panel.
Darnell received his Bachelor of Arts in Health Communications from Loyola University, Chicago. He received his Master of Science in Community Health from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Darnell received his Master of Public Health in Disaster Management from Benedictine University. Currently, Mr. Thomas is a continuing student at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health as well as a Certified Health Educator Specialist.
